Her Story
She was often referred to as the Terry Mill Covered Bridge because Terry Mill was between her and Hopewell Church.
In the 1930s, two full-length windows and canopies were added to allow visibility of oncoming traffic. She remained in service until about 1990 when bypassed.
A restoration was completed in 1996. The Johnson is the longest-surviving covered bridge on public property. And, she still sits on the original abutments!
