Yearly Photography Contest

The inaugural Fairfield County Park District photography contest is now open! Find that perfect shot and submit it anytime before 2027 for a chance to win! The 1st place and People’s Choice Award photos will be displayed on our website, social media, at the Mambourg Park Nature Center, and at our 2027 Fairfield County Fair Booth. We are accepting entries for the following categories:

  • General Nature
  • Historical Features/Buildings
  • Animals
  • Taken by Youth (17 and under)

Have a photo you want to enter? Send the file to media@fairfieldcountyparks.org with the category in the subject line and your name and park it was taken in in the body.

  1. All entries must be submitted by the end of the day December 31st, 2026. Results will be announced in February 2027.
  2. All photographs must have been taken in a Fairfield County Park District property.
  3. Each photograph must be entered for one of the following categories:
    • General Nature
    • Historical Features/Buildings
    • Animals
    • Taken by Youth (Ages 17 and under)
  1. Participants may submit up to two entries for each category.
  2. Entries will be judged based on both content and image quality.
  3. Photographs should not be changed after being taken by or have anything added to them such as:
    • Watermarks
    • Date stamps
    • Borders
    • Text
  1. Fairfield County Park District employees are ineligible to participate in the contest.
  2. 1st & 2nd place will be awarded for each category as well as a“People’s Choice” after public voting on our social media in early 2027.
  3. All award winners will get a call out on Fairfield County Park District’s social media with their pictures displayed.
  4. Entries should be emailed to media@fairfieldcountyparks.org with the category they are being entered for in the subject line and the location of the photo and name of photographer in the body of the email.  Please send a separate email for each category.
  5. By submitting your photo you state that you are the photographer and/or owner of this image and am authorized to grant Fairfield County Park District non-exclusive rights to use this image to promote the park district. You further state that any child or other persons shown in this photograph have given me consent to share this photo for public use. You agree that you will not receive any remuneration of any kind for the use of this photo by Fairfield County Park District, that there may be instances of use of this photo in which I do not receive photo credit, and that I understand that submitting this image does not guarantee it will be used by Fairfield County Park District.
