On Sunday, September 19, we will post the link for Evie Bear’s Auction and Raffle.  The Auction and Raffle will go live online Sunday, September 26, beginning at Noon, and all the items will be displayed for preview during the BOO until bidding closes at 3:00 that afternoon.

Proceeds from Evie Bear’s BOO at the BREW will support the work of the Evelyn Hazel Miller Foundation. The primary focus of the non-profit, charitable organization, is to support literacy, education, and well-being of children in ways we believe would make Evelyn proud. In the past year, the work of the Foundation included, but was not limited to:

    • Endowment of the Evelyn Hazel Miller Memorial Fund at the Columbus Zoo (give.columbuszoo.org/evelynmiller) to provide support of Pre-K education at the Zoo.
    • Partnering with Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church, more than 250 Evie Bear “HUGS” that included a plush, books, coloring books and crayons, was distributed to every child who was hospitalized during the Christmas and Easter Holidays at Dayton Children’s Hospital.
    • With support that included grant funding from the Fairfield County Foundation, we were able to install eight “Evie Bear Little Libraries”, providing free books to children of all ages.
    • Promotion for organ donation through Lifeline of Ohio and Life Connections of Ohio.

Join us as we SING * DANCE * HUG and shine Evelyn’s light. As her favorite Princess Poppy would say, let’s make this the “biggest, Loudest, CRAZIEST party EVER”!!!

About Rock Mill

Standing 90’ above the gorge of Hocking River Falls is Rock Mill, a restored 1824 gristmill. In 1905, it closed for business and fell into disrepair. After a decade-long restoration effort ending in 2017, it roared to life and milled grain again for the first time in over 100 years! Come see this amazing piece of history and enjoy its beautiful setting!

The Documentary, “Rock Mill: Saving an Original”

Want to see and learn more? “Rock Mill: Saving an Original” is an hour-long documentary that chronicles the decade-long restoration of this amazing gristmill. We recommend you watch it before you visit! It will enhance your appreciation of the hard work put in by expert craftsmen and volunteers. Watch it again after your visit! It is on our website and our YouTube Channel for you to watch at any time, but if you want to purchase a DVD, they are available exclusively from WOSU Television Shop (PBS/WOSU-TV).

Masks May Be Required inside Rock Mill

As of 9/1/2021, because of the current high level of transmission of the COVID virus during the pandemic, no one is allowed to enter the building unless he/she is wearing a mask.  A mask covering both mouth and nose must always be worn while inside the building. If you cannot or will not wear a mask, please enjoy Rock Mill Covered Bridge, the park, and Rock Mill from outside or choose to visit when there is no public emergency alert in Fairfield County.
