Tree ID Hike for Beginners
Mambourg Park
5531 Cincinnati-Zanesville Rd NE (US-22)
Lancaster, OH 43130
Ever wonder what kind of tree is in your yard? Have you seen an interesting tree while on a hike but didn’t know what it was? Join our Education Specialist to learn a few easy tips and tricks to help you identify some of Ohio’s trees.
What to Expect
After a short introduction, the hike will begin on Hickory Trail (about 1.5-miles) and continue onto Oak Trail (about 1 mile). The trails are natural; there is uneven terrain including some hills and steps. We will make frequent stops to examine trees.
Where to Meet
Meet in the front parking lot by the kiosk.
What to Bring
Wear comfortable shoes. The trail could be muddy, so select your footwear to match weather conditions. We suggest you bring drinking water, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent, and wear long clothing because of ticks.
Pets
Although pets are welcome at Mambourg Park (except on Oak Trail), we ask that you not bring pets to this program.
