Typically, Irish Canal workers were uneducated and received negligible pay. The Irish stonemasons, however, were highly skilled and better compensated for their work. Yet, little is known about those masons except the marks they left behind. We will examine the walls of Lock 13 and search for mason marks.

What to Bring
Bring your own drinking water. Potable water is not available at this location. Depending on weather conditions and the time of year, you may want to bring sunscreen and/or insect repellent.
Pets
Pets are welcome in Lockville Canal Park. They must be under control at all times and on a leash no longer than 6’. For the health and safety of all, pick up and properly dispose of pets’ waste.
Restrooms
There are no restrooms at this location.
