Exploring Wahkeena’s History, A Love Story

Step back in time and uncover the hidden history of Wahkeena Nature Preserve on this very special guided tour! This unique journey takes you beyond the usual trails, and well into the heart of Wahkeena’s past. Discover the stories of those who called this land home long before it became a cherished nature preserve.
Join us on this date that holds a special place in Wahkeena’s history. On this day, many years ago, a loving husband purchased this land as a wedding gift for his new bride. Now, we invite you to be part of their romantic legacy.
Knowledgeable staff will lead you on a 90-minute hike over half a mile of uneven terrain, revealing secrets of the past at every turn. Please note that due to the nature of the terrain, this tour may not be suitable for all visitors. Ages 8 and up only please.
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with nature and history in a whole new way. We look forward to sharing the untold stories of Wahkeena with you!
