Embrace the magic of the season with an autumn hike. From the fiery hues of fall foliage to the unique behaviors of wildlife preparing for winter, there’s so much to discover! We will delve into the specific characteristics of autumn, exploring why leaves change color and how animals prepare for the colder months. A Wahkeena Naturalist will share fascinating insights along the trail about the local flora and fauna, and how they adapt to the changing seasons.
Join us for a 90-minute journey, covering approximately one mile of our preserve’s diverse terrain. Please note that due to the uneven terrain, appropriate footwear is required. This hike is suitable for ages 12 and up.
What to Bring
Bring your own drinking water. We recommend you do not bring strollers or wagons.
No Pets
Pets are never allowed in a nature preserve.
