“Rock Mill: Saving an Original”

Presentation, Video, Q&As
(inside the mill)
Stebelton Park at Rock Mill
1429 Rockmill Place NW
Lancaster, OH  43130

The program tells the story of the original decade-long effort to restore Rock Mill, a largely volunteer project that “became a symbol of the spirit of a community that believed preservation makes us all better people”. It first aired on PBS/WOSU-TV in July 2020. The inaugural Ed Lentz Prize was awarded to Lou Varga, Varga Communications, for the video production.

Grab a bag of fresh popcorn then settle in for the show! First, a brief introduction will be presented by Jack Campbell, our Interpretive Historian. Then, the video will be shown at dusk. There will be time for Q&As with Lou Varga.

Free, family-friendly program.  Seating is inside the mill and is limited.  To reserve seats, send the names of those who wish to attend to Miranda Cain at education@fairfieldcountyparks.org.

Because parking close to the mill is limited, most guests will be directed to Parking Lot #2 on the hill. Wear comfortable walking shoes. If possible, please carpool with friends or family who will also be attending. Because the program will end well after dark, you may want to bring a flashlight for the walk back to the parking lot.
