1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Stream Investigation
Zeller Park
8475 Benadum Rd
Carroll, OH 43112
After a short discussion about the area, streams, and macroinvertebrates, the real fun begins! Join the Education Specialist for an in-depth investigation of Walnut Creek. We will use nets, minnow traps, and even our hands to collect organisms from the stream. Using a health assessment sheet, we will determine whether the stream is healthy. Identification sheets, nets, and magnifying glasses will be provided.
There will be uneven footing in the creek and it may be slippery. Wear either waterproof shoes/boots or shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. Shoes are required; no one will be allowed in the creek with bare feet.
Free, family-friendly event.
Where to Meet
