We need your help with preparations for a new disc golf course at Cross Mound Park in Stoutsville, near Tarlton. Staff has already cut invasive honeysuckle, multiflora rose, logs, and limbs. We’re asking for help to drag the brush into piles. Come any time between 9:00 and 1:00. Whatever you can do will be appreciated.
Rugged footwear or boots are recommended. You may want to dress in layers. If possible, bring your own work gloves. A limited supply of gloves will be available to borrow. You may bring loppers, but no power tools. Volunteers are not permitted to use power tools in the parks.
For safety during this work day, adults only, no pets. If you are interested in helping, please send your name and phone number to Volunteer Coordinator Uriah St John at volunteer@fairfieldcountyparks.org.
What to Bring
Drinking water will be provided; bring your own refillable water bottle. You may wish to consider using an insect repellent (every month is tick season).
Restrooms
There are no restrooms at this location.
Pets
Although we ask that you do not bring pets to this particular work day, pets are welcome in the park. They must be under control at all times and on a leash no longer than 6’. For the health and safety of all, pick up and properly dispose of pets’ waste.
