Breakfast & Birding

Mambourg Park

Birding is popular in winter because they can be seen more easily.  Don’t believe it?  Come, see for yourself!  Join us in the nature center anytime between 9am-11am for hot drinks and a light breakfast.  Bring your own binoculars, if desired.  We will have a few to borrow.  Watch birds and other animals from the observation area inside the nature center.  For those who want to venture outside on their own for more birding, trail maps are on hand.

Guided Hike (optional)
If you would prefer to go with one of our naturalists on a guided hike, meet in the nature center just before 10:00.  We will search for birds and learn to recognize their calls.

Where to Meet
All ages welcome.  Meet in the nature center; come anytime between 9:00-11:00 a.m.  Please do not brings pets to this program; see below for more about pets.

Even in the winter when most trees lose their leaves, there are still ways to identify them.  Join us in the nature center for a short presentation followed by a one-mile-long hike on Oak Trail.

This hike is best suited for ages 18 and older.  Meet in the nature center just before 2:00 so the program may begin promptly.  Please do not brings pets to this program; see below for more about pets.
