Park Rules & Regulations
Fairfield County Park District, by and through Fairfield County Board of Park Commissioners, adopted the following Park Rules & Regulations effective January 1, 2019.

With the exception of Wahkeena Nature Preserve (see below) all parks are open year-round, seven days a week, during daylight hours.

For your safety and enjoyment of the parks, all visitors are expected to follow Fairfield County Park District’s Park Rules & Regulations.
Park Rules, Summary
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on park property.
- No firearms of any kind are permitted on park property, including BB and pellet guns.
- Pets must be supervised at all times and kept on leash.
- Visitors to parks must stay on marked trails.
- Fires are only permitted in existing or approved grills or fire pits.
- No person may affix signs, posters, handbills, advertisements, etc. to park property, including trees, fence posts, buildings, vehicles, billboards, or similar structures.
- Littering is prohibited. Trash is to be disposed of in provided containers. If no container is provided, visitors must take their trash with them when leaving the park.
- Parking is permitted in marked spaces only. Observe handicapped parking spaces.
- Return park equipment and tables to their original locations.
- Leave the park as you found it.
- Be courteous of other visitors; refrain from loud music and noise.

Wahkeena Nature Preserve
Hours
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday (closed Monday-Tuesday), from mid-March to mid-November.
Nature Preserve Rules, Summary
It is a State of Ohio Nature Preserve administered by the Ohio History Connection and managed locally by Fairfield County Park District. Use of a nature preserve is for passive recreation, nature observation, research, and education. As such, certain activities that may be allowed at other parks are prohibited at the preserve for the safety and preservation of the native plants and wildlife. Below are a few points to remember.
- Visitors are required to stay on trails.
- No pets are allowed in any areas of the preserve. Of course, assistance animals are allowed.
- No collection of any plant, animal, or other substance.
- No hunting and fishing on nature preserve and natural areas.
State nature preserves are governed by ODNR (Ohio Department of Natural Resources). For a complete list of rules, see Natural Areas & Preserves – Rules and Regulations.
