About the Park
One acre in Madison Township in the southern part of the county.
The site was acquired 1998 by donation from Trustees of Clearport Community Club (the name by which the property was then known).

Gridline Schoolhouses
There are no plans to open the park for daily use because there is no parking area and the only place to enter the property is at the crest of a hill making it dangerous to enter and exit. Those who wish to visit this park may contact (740) 681-7249 to make an appointment.

Gridline Schoolhouses
Overlooking the Village of Clearport are two uniquely-positioned, brick schoolhouses, situated at right angles to each other.
In the late 1800s, Fairfield County Commissioners determined children should not have to walk more than one mile to school. To that end, the county was divided by gridlines and wherever the lines intersected a school was built.

Turn left onto Boving Rd; drive 2.0 miles. Turn right onto Hamburg Rd SW; drive 3.7 miles. Turn left onto Clearport Rd SW; drive 1.5 miles. The entrance is on the right.
