‘My brother Dave and I came to Lockville in the spring of 1866. It was an exciting town with over 300 people and plenty of jobs,’ says George.
Interpretive historian, Jack Campbell, will be in character as George Benadum. Listen to his stories of life as a locktender for the Ohio & Erie Canal in the mid- to late-1800s.
Where to Meet
Picnic Shelter. There are picnic tables with benches in the shelter. If you prefer a lawn chair, bring your own.

What to Bring
Bring your own drinking water. Potable water is not available at this location. Depending on weather conditions and the time of year, you may want to bring sunscreen and/or insect repellent.
Pets
Pets are welcome. They must be under control at all times and on a leash no longer than 6’. For the health and safety of all, pick up and properly dispose of pets’ waste.
Restrooms
There are no restroom nor portable toilets at this location.
