Skulls, Furs & Fun!

Mambourg Park
5531 Cincinnati-Zanesville Rd NE (US-22)

Lancaster, OH  43130

Which Ohio mammals truly hibernate?  Hint:  Probably fewer than you think!  Find out the answer to that question and check out different furs and skulls.  Learn tips and tricks that will help you identify them.  Then, set out to hike the one-mile-long Oak Trail to look for signs of mammals such as tracks and scat (poop).

Trail conditions will vary based on weather; be prepared with appropriate footwear to hike in muddy, snowy, or icy and slippery conditions.

No Pets, please.  Let’s  not temp them to chew the display of skins and skulls – pelts of beaver, skunk, fox and other animals, plus bones/skulls are irresistible to many dogs!  Because this program is in Mambourg Nature Center and on Oak Trail, we ask that you do not bring pets to this event.  See more about pets, below.
