A donation of time is one of the best ways you can support Fairfield County Park District.  As a volunteer, you can gain a sense of accomplishment, meet people with shared interests, and develop new skills while investing in the natural and cultural history of Fairfield County – all with a volunteer schedule customized for you!

Anyone 14+ years old may apply to volunteer with FCPD. Younger children do not need to apply as they may only volunteer with an appropriate adult, such as a parent, guardian, or scout leader.

Some of the activities you can anticipate are park clean-ups, removing invasive species, planting and maintaining native gardens, conducting biotic surveys, working at special events, weekend programs, and nature or education centers, helping during Rock Mill Days tours, more.  The most important work you can do is share with others information about Fairfield County Park District whenever and wherever possible!

Work schedules are flexible depending on where and how you choose to volunteer.  No previous experience is needed.  What is needed is a desire to help others and a positive attitude!  Training will be provided at no cost.

Ready to work and have fun? Complete the confidential online Volunteer Application.  The application is step 1 of our 4-step application process:

1. A volunteer application is submitted.
2. We meet for an informal interview.
3. A background check is conducted for all applicants 18+ years old. This is at no cost to you.
4. The prospective volunteer (and a parent/guardian for ages 14-17), signs our Volunteer Handbook Acknowledgement Form.
